April 2009 There is still time to give your views to Exeter City Council on the Topsham Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan. The consultation period remains open until 17 April. You may have been to the Exhibition in the Globe Malthouse on 4/5 March, but if you haven’t seen the draft document, or you want to fill in a response form, these are available from the Civic centre in Paris Street or on www.exeter.gov.uk. Forms can also be downloaded from www.exmouthjournal.co.uk. The Appraisal and Management Plan, in its final form, will be used by Exeter City Council as guidance for assessing developments that affect the area. So, if you have views on any aspects of the Conservation Area, don’t miss your opportunity to make them known to the City Council. The Topsham Society’s Annual General Meeting will be held in the Globe Malthouse at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 3 June. There will be a short business meeting followed by a break for refreshments. Katharine Metcalfe, who is the Conservation Officer at the City Council, will then talk to us about the progress of the Conservation Area Appraisal. The AGM is for members of the Society, but you are very welcome to come along and join on the night. Our subscription remains at £2 per annum or £3 for two people living at the same address.
