October 2011 Autumn has arrived and with it our programme of winter talks. We have organised a programme of four talks over the next few months, starting with a talk on Thursday 13 October by David Goddard, formerly of the Exeter Maritime Museum, whose subject will be “Dhows, Junks and other boats”. Talks start at 8pm in Matthews Hall. Liquid refreshments are available from 7-30 and in the interval. The talks are open to all, with a small charge for those who are not members of the Topsham Society. The full programme of talks will be included in the Autumn mailing to members. We also hope to have our calendar available from early in October. At the time of writing it is with the printers. The theme this year is “eating and drinking in Topsham”. It will be available from Joel Segal Books and Blueberry/ London House or by contacting me on 877526. ELIZABETH HUBBICK |
